Hire Locations:

Here are our favourite canoe or kayak hire starting points around Exeter or Totnes:

Exeter Quay:

Our  base on the Exeter Quay is a good place to start your canoe hire in the heart of exeter. Explore the quayside for a couple of hours or head to turf locks for a full day out.

The meeting point is just opposite from Compass Quay, Maritime Court EX2 8GW on the left hand side inbetween the sailing boats.

Please click on the map on the left to open a link to google maps. Parking is available for £3 all day at the overflow car park at the back of Michael Browning Way. It is only 2 min walk to our base from here.

Our second base NEW THIS YEAR is on the Steamer Quay in Totnes. It's a good place to start your kayak or paddle board hire in the heart of Totnes. It is tidal but at most states of tide hire is available.

You could travel up the river Dart and take in the beautiful town of Totnes or go down river and explore the incredible beauty of the river Dart in all its glory.

If you are very lucky you may even see some of the local seals, but one thing is for sure you will be in awe of your surroundings.

Countess Wear Swing Bridge:

Meet us by the Nicholas Bull boathouse (please book in advance) for your kayak or canoe hire to explore the Exeter Ship canal, the River Exe or the Exe Estuary out of town.

You could cross over to the river exe to take the outgoing tide down to Turf Locks and come back up the Exeter Canal to make your trip even more exciting.

(Best to start just after high tide)

Coming downhill from the countess wear roundabout on bridge road, turn left after the first bridge (River Exe). Free parking usually available but is limited.
